How many days?

Many a time I have tried to explain the Parish Walk to someone outside of the Isle of Man and the question is asked; "How many days does it take?" There is usually a look of disbelief when they hear the answer  is just one.

And how close yet so far some of the entrants get. I set myself a challenge this evening to see how those that got timed out, or whose legs gave up, during the later stages fared in following years. The results were very interesting - at least to statistics addicts like me.

There is s story behind every one of the 2,294 laps completed in the event to date - but there are none better than those that get around the whole 85 miles after getting so close in a previous year. .
